Canaan's services are intentionally spirited and full of the vitality
traditional to the African-American religious experience. The
combination of music, with the imprimatur of Gospel, and dynamic

Hip Hop Church @ Greater Hood Memorial AME Zion Church
Our mission is to present the Christian gospel in a setting that
appeals to both those individuals who are confessed Christians as well
as those who are considered unchurched. The Hip Hop Church is worship
and scriptural study. The Hip Hop Church is outreach to the
disenfranchised, the brokenhearted, the oppressed and those considered
"disposable" by the larger society. Our worship services follow an
order of service consistent with many African-American churches, while
always allowing the Holy Spirit to have full reign. "Hip Hop is the
culture, while Jesus is the Center." Services are currently being held
each:
Thursday night at Greater Hood Memorial AME Zion Church.
The Hip Hop Church Choir and Several of the Rappers also minister at
Friday Night FLAYVA Worship Services in the greater New York area.
